Downhill skiing

Both in near and more distant places around Hostetin there are several options in the winter for skiing. The ski centers offer a range of sporting activities for everyone - from small children with their parents up to racers.

Around Uherske Brod there are three major ski resorts - Lopeník- Mikulčin hill, Strání - Great Javořina, and a slope in Nezdenice. During the winter here there are also interesting cultural events such as the traditional New Year's Eve crossing the White Carpathians, which ends with the ceremonial lighting at the Vatry Friendship Square in a party or festival, and in February there is a traditional Carnival held.

In Valašské Klobouky winter sports are concentrated into two recreational facilities - Jeleňovské and Královci

Cross-country skiing

Possibilities of cross country skiing are much broader and nice trails are found in almost all parts of the White Carpathians. There are numerous trails known, in lengths 3 to 10 km, color-coded, along forest and meadow contours around Mikulčin hill you have Velkého Lopeníku, Kumule, Machnáče and Bošácké doliny.

Directly from Hostetin there are no signposted trails, but quality beaten tracks by local skiers. You can go towards Sanov for example, it will lead you to the crest of a number of marked trails in different directions. Another option is a circular ride towards Slavičín, where there is also a number of local tracks. Another option is to take the train (popular destinations are Valašské Klobouky or Brumov-Bylnice), and these places are repatriated to Hostetin.
